Leadership

Recently I finished reading this rather inspiring book. This book was a compilation of top world business leaders sharing their experiences of "making the sale". Each business leader had something different to offer about their leadership styles and how it plays into their lives. Seeing as I'll be graduating college in about 2 weeks, this book couldn't have come at a better time. Reading their stories compelled me to think of what my leadership style is like and how I use it in my everyday life.

Everyone is a leader in their own way, whether it be professionally or personally. I would say that my leadership styles mesh into each world. If I had to describe my leadership style in one word it would be observant. Being a marketing major there have been many group projects that I have participated in. My role is seeing how the group works together from the beginning. I normally sit back and assess the personalities of the different group members to see where they would fit best in the group. This way everyone ends up doing what they are best at and the project is completed as smoothly as possible with the optimum results.

On a personal level, it is very helpful to understand the dynamic of friends. A lot of the time friends come to me with problems, sometimes even two friends with a problem that involves the other. They feel comfortable coming to me and sometimes we can come up with a way solve the current issue. My leadership style is something that can be converted to use in all aspects of my life. Soon I will have to use it to adapt to life after college.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for advice on leadership. It is some of the best advice from top business leaders. The book is from the Harvard Business Press, Lessons Learned, Making the Sale.
